The classic visual timer with a red disk that disappears. Silent mechanism, optional beep.
Best for: The original shrinking red disk; optional alert, silent otherwise.
Caveats: Pricey for what is mechanically simple. 60-minute max on the standard model.
Same disk idea, in multiple time ranges with a handle and volume control.
Best for: Pick the range that matches your task length; carry handle.
Caveats: Each duration is a separate product — you may end up buying two.
Flip to a preset. Fast to start, but the display is numeric, not spatial.
Best for: Zero-decision start: flip the side you want.
Caveats: Digital display, not a shrinking disk — less “visual”. Beep can be loud; clones vary.
Hourglasses in a set. Beautiful and silent, but nothing tells you when time is up.
Best for: Fully silent, fully visual, no batteries.
Caveats: No alarm — you must look. Glass breaks. Fixed durations.
Our own shrinking-disk timer. Free, fullscreen, optional chime. Built and tested by us.
Best for: Try the shrinking-disk method for free before buying hardware.
Caveats: Lives on a screen — the same screen that distracts you. A physical disk stays visible when tabs change.
